Jansen, Lucy, Mrs. Bert - 1902-1975

Funeral services were held at the Alton Reformed Church at 10 A.M., August 4 for Mrs. Bert Jansen, 72, of Bellflower, Calif., formerly of Alton, who died at a Bellflower hospital July 30.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Vander Schaaf and burial was in Nassau Township cemetery at Alton.

Mrs. Jansen, the former Lucy Vande Weg, was born in The Netherlands December 21, 1902. She came to the U.S. as a girl. She was married to Bert Jansen at Steen, Minn., February 24, 1924. Mr. Jansen operated a plumbing business at Alton until moving to California.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joanne) Drost of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Gerben (Janice) Van Gelder of Orange City; two sons, Harold of Bellflower and Eldon of Kansas City; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nick Talsma and Mrs. Cass Westrate both of Jenison, Mich., Mrs. George Vanden Bos and Mrs. Ralph Dykstra, both of Stickney, S.D.; four brothers, Edward, Gerrit and Bert, all of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Al of Newage, Mich.
