Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Boyden at 10:30 A.M., December 5 for Leonard Korthals, 83, of Boyden, who died at the Rock Rapids Hospital December 2 after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Sylvester Moths and burial was in the Boyden Cemetery.

Mr. Korthals was born February 24, 1891, in The Netherlands. He married Lubertha Evink February 20, 1913, in Hull. Mrs. Korthals died in 1967. The couple farmed in the Boyden-Matlock area 44 years and retired to Boyden in 1948.

Survivors include three sons, Henry of George, Garrit of Boyden, and Lawrence of Corona, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. John (Frances) Freerks of George, Mrs. Richard (Effie) Green of Boyden, Mrs. Evert (Cornelia) Van Weston and Mrs. Fred (Katherine) Crull, both of George, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Fred, of Steen, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Katie Vanden Oever of Hull, Mrs. Minnie Boonestra of Perkins and Mrs. Effie De Boer of Boyden.
