Funeral services were held December 3 at the Community Reformed Church in Hawarden for William Hazel, 82, of Hawarden, who died at the Hawarden hospital November 30.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Thomas Beech and burial was in Eden Cemetery at Hudson, S.D.

Mr. Hazel was born in The Netherlands June 9, 1892, and came to the U.S. in 1915. He settled in the Canton, S.D., area. On October 6, 1920, Mr. Hazel was married to Annie Hermon at Inwood. They resided on a farm in the Fairview and Hudson areas for many years. Mrs. Hazel died in 1957. He moved to Hawarden in 1961.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Wilma) Ronsiek of Hawarden, Mrs. Glenn (Clara) Larson of Papillion, Nebr., Mrs. Sam (Nellie) Keizer, of Akron and Mrs. Jennie West of Sioux Falls, S.D., four sons, Louis of Hawarden, William, Jr. of Beresford, S.D., John of Baltic, S.D., and Raymond of Hudson, 19 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
