Orange City - Raymond Latchaw, 65, of Orange City died Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Sioux Center hospital.

Services were at 9 A.M., Wednesday at the Van Etten-Olman Funeral Home with the Rev. Edmund W. Tratebas officiating. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul, Minn.

Mr. Latchaw was born Feb. 13, 1913, in Ida Grove. He married Trudy Troesdale on Oct. 20, 1935, in Ida Grove. They moved to Orange City in 1940 and operated the Hawkeye Hotel.

He served in the Army during World War II and following his discharge he moved to the Minneapolis area, where he worked at the St. Paul Athletic Club, Northstar Inn and Holiday Inn. In 1948 he moved to White Bear Lake, Minn., and in 1968 he returned to Orange City where he managed the Dutch Mill Inn. He began work at the Orange City Community Hospital in 1976.

Mr. Latchaw was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of Cane Masonic Hodge 377 in Ida Grove.

Survivors include; two daughters, Mrs. George (Laurie) Moore of White Bear Lake and Mrs. Michael (Winn Ann) Plocher of Portland, Ore.; a son, James of Cottage Grove, Minn.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Ross of Minneapolis and Reese of Waukesha, Wis., and a foster sister, Mrs. Arthur (Pearlie) Rathbun, address unknown.
