Johnny, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sardeson, died last Monday of brain fever, aged about seven years. Johnny was one of the finest lads we ever knew, very bright, and intelligent for on of his age, and every man, woman and child in Alton knew and loved him. His death is a severe blow to his parents, who have the universal sympathy of all.
(The submitter couldn't find a Sardeson family in the Alton area in 1885 or 1900 census. There was a Wm Sardeson family living in Woodbury Co., in 1900 census, namely Wm. b. 1861 WI and wife Eliza b. 1862, possible parents.)
