Nettie Wood, age 90, died Thursday, April 8 at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls. Funeral service was April 12 at the United Church of Christ in Hudson with the Rev. Nancy Jacobson officiating. Interment was in Eden Cemetery in Hudson. Porter Funeral Home of Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Nettie Catherine Wood was born October 4, 1913, near Inwood, the daughter of Michael and Abby (Streit) Baatz. She was united in marriage to Herbert P. (Bud) Wood on August 14, 1938, in Hudson. The couple farmed near Hudson until Mr. Wood died in 1983. Nettie then moved into Hudson where she volunteered at Colonial Manor Health Care Center for many years. She was an active member of the United Church of Christ.

Survivors include sons, Herbert of Merced, California, Tom of Hudson and Keith of Hawarden; daughters, Judy DeVos of Sioux Falls, Nathalie Torkelson of Hudson and Barbara Rickabaugh of Akron; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Robert ; and three sisters and five brothers.
