Willie Baatz, 58, of rural Inwood, died Saturday, April 25, at his farm home following an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, 2:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Inwood with the Rev. Conrad Rolland officiating. Organist, Mrs. Dwaine Mundt accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moen during their duet.

Pallbearers were Wesley Kock, Ralph Kock, Palmer Weberg, William Arp, Alfred Ahders and Reynold Colberg.

Honorary burial was in the Richland Cemetery at Inwood under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Baatz was born November 8, 1911, in Sioux County, Iowa. He married Emma Ranschau on November 28, 1939. They have farmed near Inwood since 1942.

Survivors are his widow; three sons, Lloyd of St. Paul, Minnesota, Edwin in the army at Edgewood, Maryland, Leroy, a student at the University of Iowa, Iowa City; three daughters, Mrs. Jim Markle of Canton, South Dakota, and Dolores and Audrey at home; three sisters, Mrs. Bud Wood of Hudson, South Dakota, Mrs. Henry Ranschau of Rock Valley and Ms. Ed Sehr of Sherman, South Dakota; three brothers, Albert of Inwood, John of Luverne, Minnesota, and Matt Baatz of Hudson, South Dakota; two grandchildren.
