Rosine L. Berg, 86, of Akron, Iowa, died at Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden, Iowa, after a lengthy illness.

Services were held on Tuesday morning, August 24, 1993, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, where she was a member, the Reverend Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Miss Beg was born on August 3, 1907, in Grant Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Heeren) Berg. She was baptized August 25, 1907, at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township, and confirmed March 20, 1921, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig, Iowa. A lifelong Plymouth County resident, she lived most of her life with a sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Martin Toben of Akron. She became a resident of the nursing home in January, 1983.

Survivors include a brother, Herman Berg of Cave Junction, Oregon, and many nieces and nephews, including Norman and Leonard Marienau or Ireton.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Minnie Tobolt, Emma Plueger, Ida Marienau and Anna Toben; and two brothers, the Reverend Carl Beg and an infant, Ludwig Bernhard Berg.
