From the Alton Democrat of Apr 5, 1890, under Hull items;
After starting for their new home in Utah, and while stopping at Sheldon on the way, Mr. Chas. Cavanaugh and family experienced the loss of their youngest child. It was a sad affliction to the bereaved parents. The little one was brought back to Hull of interment.
(The 1885 census for Sioux County town of Pattersonville (Hull) Chas. Cavanaugh was 26 years, his wife Mary was 25 years, living with them was James B. 21 years old, persumed to be a brother. In the Sioux County Herald paper of Orange City it was related that the baby was only a few weeks old. On the site ancestry.com was found the Cavanaugh family. Charles did have a younger brother James. Charles's wife was Mary E. Sullivan born in Canada 1861, they had the following children: Nellie b. 1885, Thomas 1894 and Chas 1897. They lived at Cherokee County Iowa in later census.
