SHELDON--Adrian John Pennings,63,of Sheldon died Thursday at a Primghar hosptial following a brief illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Reformed Church, Sheldon. Dr. P.Y.DeJong officiated. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Andringa Funeral Home of Sheldon.

Mr. Pennings was born Nov.9,1913, in Orange City and attended the Christian school there. He farmed near Orange City until his marriage to Jacoba Mars on Oct. 9, 1936, in La Mars. After their marriage the coupled farmed near Sheldon for several years and for the past 12 half a years he has been employed on the Bob McCarty farm south of Sheldon.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Henry John and Ivan Dale both of Sheldon; eight daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Juliana)Vander Pol and Mrs. Robert (Ada)Geels, both of Sheldon, Mrs.Allan (Marlene) Vande Kamps of Rock Valley, Mrs.Vernon (Leona)Vande Kamp of Orange City, Mrs. Darrell (Irene)Schmidt of Sioux Center and Mrs.Robert (Helen)Bajema, Miss Deanne Pennings and Miss Sheila Pennings, all of Sioux Falls, SD; three sisters Mrs. William G.(Adriana) Nibbrlink, Mrs. John (Edna) Fedders and Miss Wilmyna Pennings all of Orange City; his step-mother Mrs. Johanna Pennings of Orange City; seven half-brothers, Englebert of Worthington, Minn., Wilbur of Kalamazoo, Mich., Laurence of Roseland, Minn., and Gerrit, Clarence, Milton and Harold Pennings all of Orange City; four half-sisters, Miss Gertude Pennings and Miss Harriet Pennings, both of Orange City, Mrs. Ferrand (Matilda)Deur of Freemond Mich., and Mrs. Ebb (Helen) Triemstra of Kalamazoo and 31 grandchildren.
