Henrietta, who was known as "Heny", was the daughter of Dirk and Grada (Nyman) Schutt. She was raised in Sioux Center, where she graduated from High School.
On December 12, 1934, she married Arnold Te Stroete at Sioux Center. They made their home in Hospers where their only child, Paul, was born on November 16, 1939. Paul passed away July 7, 1987. Her husband, "Arnie", passed away October 31, 1991.
The Te Stroetes were very active members of the Hospers, First Reformed Church where Heny participated in the Women’s Ministries and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Family activities were very important to her, and she enjoyed entertaining in her home.
Heny’s last few years were spent at the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City and finally at the Nursing Facility of the Sioux Center Community Hospital.
Mrs. Te Stroete is survived by a daughter-in-law, Beach and her husband Steve Husk, of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Julie and her husband Steve Huisenga of Sioux City, and Mark Te Strote and his wife Susan of St. Louis, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Cole and Carley Huisenga of Sioux City, IA; one brother, Gerrett Schutt and his wife Margaret of Sioux Center; and many nieces and nephews as well as a host of good friends.
In addition to her parents, son and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
