ROCK VALLEY--Gillis Hoevenagel,93,Rock Valley, died Jan. 11 in a Rock Valley nursing home of a long illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 12 in the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. The Rev.David Waterman officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. Hoevenagel was born Nov. 27, 1882, in the Netherlands. He came to America at an early age. He married Jennie Ver Meulem on March 12, 1912 at Rock Valley. They lived at Rock Valley until 1936 when they moved to Spirit Lake. Mr. Hoevenagel was engaged there in the contracting business. In 1972 they moved back to Rock Valley where both resided in the nursing home.

Survivors include the widow and two grandchildren.
