Herman Henry Wassenaar, a resident of Mossyrock, Wash. for the past 35 years, died Thursday, Oct. 22, in St Helen Hospital Chehalis, Was. He was 76.
Wassenaar was born Dec. 23, l904, in Orange City, Ia. He came to the Mossyrock area from Tillamook, Ore., in l946 and worked for a number of years at a Morton sawmill. He also had been a part-time farmer.
Wassenaar was a member of the Richland Valley Church of the Brethren, Ajlune, where he served as an usher for many years, and was a member of Lumber and Sawmill Workers Local 2767, Morton.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Marion, at home; one son, Gerald, Tigard, Ore.; two daughters, Betty Duncan, Portland, Ore., and Kathleen Kinnaman, Olympia, Wash., nine grandchildren, and ll great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Howard.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 2 at Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel, Toledo, Wash. with the Revs. Paul Buntain and Cecil Christian officiating. Interment followed at Doss Cemetery, Mossyrock.
