Mrs. Henry F. Marienau, 79, of Hawarden died Thursday at a Hawarden nursing home of a brief illness.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dwight Rengstorf officiated. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery at Ireton under the direction of Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden.

Mrs. Marienau, the former Alvina Schmedhans, was born July 22, 1898, at Ireton. She was married May 18, 1917, at Ireton. The couple lived in Hawarden. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Her husband died Nov. 17, 1975.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Donna) Koob of Hawarden; two sons, Verle of Hawarden and Wayne of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Hemmingson of Hawarden; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
