Mrs. Joe Boender, 84, of Hospers died Monday at the Orange City hospital.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday at the First Reformed Church of Hospers with the Rev. Gerrit Doctor officiating and the Rev. C. Van Heukelom assisting. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Sioux Center.

Mrs. Boender, the former Rena De Boer, was born July 22, 1893, in Hospers. She was married March 5, 1919, in Hospers.

Survivors include the widower; four daughters, Miss Lucretia Boender at home, Miss Adriana Boender of Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Gerrit (Arlene) Verhoek of Bruce, S.D., and Mrs. Jean (Josephine) Van Oort of Denver; three sons, Henry of Hospers, Claude of Ashton and the Rev. John Boender of Hingham, Wis.; two brothers, William of Sanborn and Clarence of Archer; a sister, Mrs. John (Winnie) Bolkema of Inwood; 16 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
