Hospitalman, 2nd class Stephen William Swier, 24, Tarawa Terrace, North Carolina, died Friday, May 14, 1976.

Services were held Wednesday, at 2 P.M., at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Le Mars with Rev. Joel Boot officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens at Le Mars. Mauer funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Stephen Swier, was born June 12, 1951, in Colton, S.D. He graduated from Unity Christian High School and attended Northwestern College in Orange City.

He married Jan Zomermaand Dec. 22, 1970 in Le Mars. He entered the navy Dec. 26, 1971. He was a pharmacy technician at the naval regional center hospital at Camp LeJeune, N.D.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Chadwick Reuben, 3; a daughter, Stephanie Natasha, 2; his parents Mr. & Mrs. William Swier, Colton, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Butch (Sherry) Faber of California and Linda and Nancy Swier, both of Colton; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Peter Swier, Colton.
