Funeral services for John Moeller, 65, Ireton retired mail carrier, were held November 27, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran church. The Rev. Paul Krouse of Sioux City officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mrs. Marlen Eilts was the organist, music was by the church choir, casket bearers were Lewis Goodmanson, Walter Peters, Andy Schipper, Cornie Coulander, Preston Juffer, Harvey Boisen, Mr. Moeller passed away Wednesday evening (November 24, 1965) at the Lutheran hospital after a long illness. He was born November 18, 1900 to Martin and Tena Moeller. On January 7, 1920, he was united in marriage to Rose Johnson.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church and had served as secretary and treasurer. He was postmaster at Ireton for 14 years. He transferred to rural carrier and occupied that position for 12 years. He retired October 15, 1965. He is survived by his widow, Rose, one daughter, Mrs. John (Margaret) Conover of Le Mars, one son, Kenneth of Sacramento, California; four grandchildren and two brothers, Richard and Peter, both of Hawarden. He was preceded in death by his parents a sister, Mrs. Matilda Johnson, who died August 30, 1965.
