Sioux Center-Samuel Dorhout, 69, of Sioux Center, died July 21 in a Sioux Center hospital after a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., July 24 in Vander Ploeg Funeral Home. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.

Mr. Dorhout was born Jan. 14, 1907, in The Netherlands. He married Mary Rynders April 6, 1930, in Lebanon, Iowa. Mr. & Mrs. Dorhout farmed in the Sioux Center area.

Survivors include the widow; 10 sons, Harvard of Hawarden, Lawrence of Humbolt, Arnold of Palatine, Ill., Warren of Orange, Calif., Marlin of Denver, Wendell of Hawarden, Kenneth of Virginia Beach, VA., and Donald, Roland and Galen, all of Sioux Center; two daughters, Mrs. Wilson (Evelyn) Henderson of Price, Utah and Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Engelbert of Minneapolis; four brothers, Peter D. and Dick, both of Rock Valley, George of Orange City and Clarence of Lake Worth, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. William (Gertie) Van Zanten, Mrs. John (Ella) Hoekman and Mrs. Fred (Mary) Van Kley, all of Rock Valley and Mrs. Karl (Martha) Vander Plas of Sioux Center and 24 grandchildren.
