Bret Lammers, 16, of Sioux Center, died at his home Monday, Aug. 9 of a long illness.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Rev. Wesley Kiel officiated. Interment was at the Memory Garden Cemetery with the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in charge.

Lammers was born in Sioux Center, Feb. 2, 1960. He was a junior at Sioux Center High School.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Lammers, 1312 Third Avenue SE; a sister, Dana, at home; a brother, Grant, at home; and grandparents Mrs. Henry Lammers of 216 Second Street SE and Mr. & Mrs. Martin Kooistra of Hull.

A memorial has been established at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
