IRETON--Mrs. Andrew Elgersma, 82, of Ireton, died Wednesday in a Hawarden hospital.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Christian Reformed Church at Ireton. The Rev. Bernard Fynaardt officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton with the Dow Funerial Home of Ireton in charged.
Mrs. Elgersma the former Anna Vander Ven, was born June 25, 1894, at Grand Rapids, Mich. She was married to Fred Koopmans Jan. 26,1913, at Ireton. Mr. Koopmans died Feb. 10, 1953. She was married to Andrew Elgersma July 28, 1954. Mr. Elgersma died Sept. 1,1972. Mrs. Elgersma was a member of the Christian Reformed Church. She had been a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Hudson, SD. the last four years.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs.Harm (Margaret) Ten Napels, Mrs. Andrew (Jennie) Anema and Mrs. Earl (Henrietta) Kooi, all of Ireton; three sons, William and Henry Koopmans, both of Ireton, and Arven Koopmans of Renton, Wash., two stepsons, Asa Elgersma of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Bernard Elgersma of Leota, Minn.; two stepdaughters Miss Jennie Elgersma of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Annie De Vries of San Jose, Calif.; 43 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren and a sister Hattie Huenink of Firth, Neb.
