Ravenswaay, Arie Mrs. 1900-1977

IRETON--Mrs. Arie Ravenswaay, 76, of Ireton, died Monday in a Hawarden nursing home.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Reformed Church in Ireton. The Rev Phillip Frens officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemeterey at Ireton with the Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden in charge.

Mrs. Ravenswaay, the former Jacoba Vanden Hoorn, was born Oct. 7, 1900 in the Netherlands. She came to the United States as a young girl and was married Feb. 11, 1925 in Steen, Minn. Mr. Ravenswaay died March 22, 1972. She was a member of the First Reformed Church at Ireton

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Donald (Gertrude) Vander Ploeg of Orange City, Mrs. Peter (Janette) Netten of Rock Valley, Mrs. Albert (Annie) Van Bruggen of Hawarden, Mrs. Jake (Arlene) De Bruin of Everson, Wash., Miss Bernice Ravenswaay of Sioux Center and Mrs. Harlan (Dorothy) Tiedeman of Hull; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs.Everet Veenendaal of Artesia, Calif.
