Boyden--Dr. C. A. De Valois, 82, of Daytona Beach, Fla., a former Boyden and Sheldon resident, died Wednesday at Daytona Beach.
Services and burial were in Daytona Beach.
He was born Dec. ll, l894, at Boyden. He married Cynthia Vander Wilt April 20, l920, at Boyden. Mrs. De Valois died in l932. They had farmed in the Boyden area. He was a graduate of Northwestern Academy at Orange City and received a degree in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University. He practiced at Sheldon for several years. He married Kathryn Wilson in l932 at Sheldon. They moved to Daytona Beach where he served as a government meat inspector. He was a World War I veteran.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Dr. Donald De Valois of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; a stepson, Jim Wilson of Daytona Beach; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Rick (Elaine) Holt of Daytona Beach; two brothers, Dr. J.J. De Valois of Holland, Mich., and Reuben of Orange City; and two sisters, Mrs. Rev. William (Nell) Van't Hof of Holland, Mich., and mrs. William (Myrtle) Brower of Denver.
