Sioux Center - Mrs. Maas Van Beek, 70, of Sioux Center died Saturday at a Rock Valley hospital following a heart attack.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux. The Rev. Joel Beeke officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Beek, the former Hermina Zomermaand, was born May 20, 1908, near Maurice. She was married December 5, 1928, in Rock Valley. They lived Sioux Center and Mr. Van Beek died May 11, 1978.

Survivors include a son, Egbert of Sioux Center; two daughters, Mrs. Dick (Gertrude) Burgers of Alvord and Mrs. William (Nellie) Middendorp of Hull; four brothers, Richard of Orange City, Henry of Sioux Center, Gerrit of Struble and John of Holland, Michigan; nine sisters, Mrs. Case (Lucy) Vander Wege and Mrs. Bert (Anne) Vander Wege, both of Holland, Michigan, Mrs. Jennie Koel of Sioux Center, Mrs. Oepke (Henrietta) Niemeyer of Inwood, Mrs. Martin (Nellie) Mesman of Rippon, California, Mrs. Gerrit (Alice) Topp of Cerritos, California, Mrs. William (Rolena) Wissing of Ankeny, Mrs. Case (Albertha) Van Hofwegen of Edgerton, Minnesota and Mrs. John (Hattie) Boeve of Disolia, California; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
