Boyden--Edgar G. Vermeer, 49, of Boyden died suddenly Saturday at his farm near Boyden.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 5 at First Reformed Church in Boyden, The Rev. Sylvester H. Moths and the Rev. Calvin Vande Zande will officiate. Burial will be at Boyden Cemetery under the direction of Van Etten-Oolmaan Funeral Home in Orange City.
Mr. Vermeer was born Jan. 20, l928 near Boyden. He attended Northwestern Junior College in Orange City and Iowa State University. He married Johanna Vanderson June l9, l953 in Randolph, Wis.
He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the First Reformed Church, where he served on the consistory. He was a former officer of the Iowa Holstein Association and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was a member of the Boyden American Legion.
Survivors include the widow; three sons, Donald of Orange City, Bob of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Steve of Ames; three daughters, Judy, Patty and Susan, all at home; parents Mr. and Mrs. John Vermeer of Boyden; one brother, Harvey of Boyden; two sisters, Mrs. Casey (Louella) Smit of Boyden and Mrs. Larry (Marjorie) Chaffels of Cherry Hill, N.J.
