Kathryn Emlyn SANDERSON

Kathryn Emlyn SANDERSON died peacefully at her home on 930 Yale Ave., Tuesday, April 8, 1008, at 10 a.m. She was born Sept. 18, 1910, the youngest daughter of Frank STONE and Merta Lorraine (DAY) STONE in Sioux City, Iowa.

Later, her family farmed land near the town of Sloane, Iowa. She attended Morningside College in Sloane for two years, and taught school for several years after graduating.

During her younger years, she sang in teh church choir, in her school's glee club, and was an excellent pianist. She also played accompaniment on the pump organ for the silent movies matching the music to the scenes on the screen.

While in her late 20s, Katheryn moved to Billings, where she eventually married her husband Warren SANDERSON.

Kathry, like her husband Warren, loved her family. She was homemaker and mom who cooked delicious meals and always tried to put her family first. She would do anything to help others if it was in her power, even if it was only to pray for them. Kathryn was a compassionate person who cared about all who hurt, showing genuine concern for others. To Kathryn, showing love to one another was more important than anything.

Before retiring for the night, Kathryn always found comfort in saying the Lord's Prayer. Her family will always miss dear little mom.

She is survived by her two sons, Philip and David SANDERSON; and by her daughter-in-law, Betty SANDERSON; and Betty's daughter, Gina M. MORGAN.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Mountview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to First Presbyterian Church. Michelotti-Sawyers is in charge of arrangements and condolences may be left for the family at www.michelottisawyers.com .
