From the Sioux County Capital, August 5, 1948:

WILLIAM MIERAS DIES

William Mieras, a former resident of Maurice, died at his home in Knox, Indiana, July 22, after a long illness. Mr. Mieras was born near Racine, Wis., May 2, 1867, and came to Iowa in 1880 with his father and three brothers and four sisters. He was in the hardware business from 1892 to 1899 and them was agent for the Atlas Elevator Co. for a number of years. He left Maurice in 1921.

Surving are his wife and three sons and three daughters, and eight grandchildren. Also survivng are two brothers, J.S. Mieras of Sioux City, and John E. Mieras of Maurice. Funeral services and burial were at Knox, Indiana. (Note: William was buried next to his mother in the Paris Corners Cemetery, Wisconsin, according to his wishes.)
