Swanson-Dimmick Wedding
Miss Linda Swanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Swanson of LuVerne, Iowa, and Arden Dimmick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dimmick of Hawarden, were united in marriage Saturday evening, June 29, at the United Methodist church in LuVerne. Rev. Otis McQuary officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white organza trimmed with Venetian lace and fashioned with a long train. A pearl-trimmed organza rose adorned her veil, and she carried a cascade of pink roses and stephanotis. Mrs. Richard Lann of Luverne, Minnesota, was matron of honor with Miss Glenda Schwarck of Eldora, Iowa, and Miss Jeanette Dimmick of Sioux City as bridesmaids. The attendants wore identically attired in pink organza sheaths with lace bodice and trains and pink blusher veils. They carried bouquets of pink and white daisies.
Roger Dimmick of Le Mars, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Marlin Janssen of Alcester and Merlyn Swanson of LuVerne, Iowa. Ushers were Glen Schwarck of Eldora, Jerry Kratochvil of Hawarden, and Chuck Cooper of Alcester. Candles were lit by Miss Susan Stoakes of Fort Wayne, Indiana, nd Miss Shirley Dimmick of Hawarden. They wore pale green sheaths and veils identically styled to those of the bridesmaids. Mrs. Arvin Kitchenmaster of Hawarden accompanied Miss Gretchen Zentner as she sang nuptial music.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Swanson of LuVerne, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. William Stoakes of Fort Wayne, Indiana, were hosts and hostesses.Mrs. Sherman Arends presided at the guest book. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Glenn Brandsma of Spencer, Iowa, and Mrs. Roger Dimmick of LeMars. Mrs. Elmer Emery of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Glen Schwarck poured. Helping with the serving were Mrs. Dwayne Toby of Readlyn, Iowa, and Mrs. Kenneth Stripling of Manning, Iowa. Gifts were opened by Miss Judy Spain of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Miss Marge Perry of Pocahontas, and Miss Sandra Stripling of Des Moines.
After a wedding trip to Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Dimmick will be at home in Hawarden, where both are employed
