ALTON STAR OF DIAMOND IS MARRIED
William Hansen and Miss Marcella Konz Join Hand and Heart

One of the prettiest and most popular weddings of the year was that of Mr.
William V. Hansen and Miss Marcella Konz, which took place Monday morning at
8:15 o’clock at St. Mary’s church, Very Rev. F. J. Brune officiating.

The bride was exquisite in a beautiful gray charmain ensemble suit with gray
tailored hat to match. She carried a bouquet of roses, sweet peas,
carnations and baby breath. The groom was attended by his friend, Maris J.
Goebel. Miss Florence Konz, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and was
beautifully attired, her gown being Canton crepe of ashes of roses color.
Her hat was of a material and color to match and she also carried roses,
together with narcissus, sweet peas and baby breath. After the ceremony a
wedding breakfast was served to the wedding party at the home of the bride’s
aunt, Miss Louise Noethe, and lager a four course dinner at the home of the
bride’s mother.

The young couple left Wednesday by car for a trip to Marshall and
Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mrs. Hansen has always been one of the most popular young ladies in her set,
but has always been, too, a “home girl,” the treasured help of her mother.

The groom, for a number of years lineman for the Remsen-Alton-Granville
Telephone company, has a splendid reputation as a steady, reliable young
man, of honest character, ambitious and thrifty, who will make his mark in
the world. His reputation as a ball player is more than local. While
playing with the LeMars club his batting average rose to the top, not only
of his own club, but of any club in the semi-league to which LeMars belonged
at that time. He has been a tower of strength to the Alton Club on short
and second, not only because of his work with the stick but also on account
of his wonderful fielding ability.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Marie Hansen, a devoted member of St. Mary’s
church, living in Alton and the bride is the daughter of Mrs. Anna Konz,
whose fine farm near Alton has ever been one of the most prosperous and
hospitable in the vicinity. The ALTON DEMOCRAT joins with the young couple’s
hundreds of friends in extending heartiest best wishes and congratulations.

Guests from out-of-town for the happy event were: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Konz,
of Lismore Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Adlel Heines, of Marshall, Minn.; Mr. and
Mrs. Julius Konz and son Harold of Dell Rapids, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Wolf and children, of Remsen.
