PRETTY WEDDING AT ST. MARY’S

Miss Malvina Hentges, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hentges, and Mr.
Alphonse Biever, son of Mrs. Helena Biever, were married Monday morning at
St. Mary’s church. Very Rev. M. A. Schemel officiated at the impressive
ceremony, which took place at 8:20 o’clock.

The bride was lovely in a gown of white satin trimmed with shadow net. She
wore a tulle veil and carried a bouquet of red roses. She was attended by
her sister, Miss Pearl Hentges, who wore a frock of pale blue crepe romaine
trimmed in gold. Her hat and slippers were gold and her bouquet was of pink
roses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Aloysius Biever.

A large company of relatives and friends were entertained at dinner at the
bride’s home, after which the couple left on a wedding trip to Albion,
Nebraska. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen and baby of Dell
Rapids, S.D.; Mrs. Chas. Hollenbeck, of LeMars; Miss Henry and Miss Zimmers,
of LeMars; Miss Letha Garthwaite, of Sheldon. The last three and Miss
Corolla Wolf served at the dinner.

Mrs. Biever is a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and of Sacred Heart hospital
nurses training class of 1929, and has since been successful in her chosen
profession. Mr. Biever attended school at St. John’s Academy, St. Paul. He
is one of the leading young business men of Alton, proprietor of the Alton
Hardware store. Both are splendid young people, deserving of the
congratulations of their host of friends, with whom THE DEMOCRAT joins in
best wishes for a happy future.
