DIERS-THIESEN WEDDING
Miss Rita Diers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Diers of Granville, and Erwin Thiesen of Richfield, Wis., were united in marriage in St. Joseph’s Church, Granville, on May 28, by Rev. Zeno Reising.The bride is a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Alton, Iowa. Immediately after her graduation she attended Western Union College, LeMars, Ia., where she took normal training. She entered the teaching profession and has been active in this field the past four years. The past three years she has been teaching St. Bridget’s School, Kewaskum, Wis.
Mr. Thiesen is employed in the Rockfield Canning Company. He has held this position for the past six years.
The bride wore a white silk georgette gown with a full train and finger tip length veil. She carried a blue velvet prayerbook that was carried by her grandmother on her wedding day.
Monica Diers, the bridesmaid, wore a full length Copenhagen blue taffeta-net dress and a blue picture hat to match. She carried a bouquet of call lilies. Louis Theisen served Mr. Theisen as best man.
After the nuptial mass a three course wedding breakfast was served to those in the bridal party and at 12 noon a three course wedding dinner was served to thirty guests at the home of the bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Theisen will be at home to their friends in Rockfield, Wisconsin, after June 15th.
