BOISEN—ABBEY NUPTIALS

Miss Helen Boisen of this vicinity and Mr. Roy Abbey of Hawarden vicinity
staged a surprise on their many friends when they motored to Sioux Falls
Thursday, February 23, and were married. The ceremony was performed by the
Lutheran pastor of that place. The young couple were unattended.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Boisen residing on a farm
near Ireton. She is a charming young woman who has grown up in this
community from babyhood. She has scores of friends who wish them much
happiness and joy in their married life.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Abbey, who reside on a farm
near Hawarden. Following the completing of his school work in rural and
district schools, he became the right hand help of his father in the
management of their large stock farm and is well able to assume control and
continue the management of the farming operations they plan to undertake.

On Wednesday evening a reception was held in honor of the newly weds at the
Hawarden auditorium when nearly 200 friends, relatives and well wishers came
to make merry and extend congratulations to the happy couple. They plan to
make their home on the farm near Hawarden. Congratulations are extended.

[Transcriber Note: This marriage is documented in the old news copy as
taking place on Thursday, Feb. 23. However, research shows that in 1932,
February 23rd was a Tuesday. If this couple was married in Sioux Falls on
Thursday, then the date was likely February 25.]
