Funeral services: Tuesday, June 13, 2024; Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, IA; burial was in the Jacksonville Cemetery, Harlan, IA

Survived by: Children, Randy Roenfeld of Council Bluffs, IA, Julie Long of Harlan, IA, and Rodney Roenfeld of Harlan, IA; granddaughters, Kristina (spouse, Kirk) Dekker, Michelle Lund, Amy (spouse, Derek) Genck; 6 great-grandchildren; other family members and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Edward and Irene (nee Schoening) Heitman; husband, Wilbert Roenfeld; daughter, Joyce Lund; daughter-in-law, Joyce Roenfeld; sons-in-law, Dar Lund and Bob Long; brothers, Weldon Heitman and Edward Heitman

Education: Attended grade school in a one-room school house in Lewis Township; she later attended high school at Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, IA, and graduated with the Class of 1947

Religious affiliation: Member, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, IA for more than 55 years; she taught Sunday School and Bible School; was involved in the women’s circle, holding several offices in addition to spending all day sewing and tying quilts etc. She and Wilbert were also janitors for more than 6 years at the church.

Marriage: Wilbert Roenfeld; Sep. 27, 1950; St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Council Bluffs, IA

Employment: After high school, Angela stayed at home to help her mother; after her marriage and in addition to being a farmer’s wife, Angela worked at Best Western Motel in Walnut, IA and Highway Motel in Harlan, IA, cleaning rooms. Additionally, she worked at Baptist Home Assisted Living and Elm Crest Retirement Community as a dietary aid for 14 years.

Hobbies/Interests: Involved with her children in 4-H, serving as a 4-H leader. Her favorite pastime was attending polka dances with her husband and friends in Iowa and Nebraska.
