Miss Mary Spaw, neice of Mrs. Childers, died at the latter's residence, yesterday morning at 5:30 a m., of that dread disease, consumption. She came to Harlan six years ago, in company with her sister, Mattie, and since that time has resided with Mrs. Childers. She was twenty years old, and was a young lady most highly respected in this community. Her mother died in 1863. Her father has been telegraphed for in Des Moines, but is not there at present. The funeral services will take place to-day, at 1 o'clock, p. m.. from the Baptist church, of which denomination the deceased has been a member for seven years. Rev. Welsher officiated.
