The Death Angel has again visited us. This time to take from our midst Mr. E. A. Collins, proprietor of Deer Ridge Stock Farm, situated five and a half miles north of Shelby. On last Thursday night the Major was stricken with paralysis, and laid unconscious for twenty-four hours, when death came to his relief. He was born in Ohio, Jan. 31, 1810, and consequently was in his 74th year. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Franklin, at the residence of the deceased. Quite a concourse of people followed the remains to the Shelby cemetery, where his body was interred within a metalic casket very richly ornamented with silver trimmings.

Mr. John Collins, Miss Nettie Collins and Mr. J. W. Arnold and wife, of Omaha, and Judge Jerry Murphy, of Davenport, were among the mourners.
