LAKE CURTIS, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ledwich, died of the scarlet fever early Thursday morning aged 2 years, 8 months, 10 days. The funeral services were conducted at the house by the Rev. Mr. Sabin, after which the procession started for Avoca meeting just below Hacktown, some twenty carriage loads of friends from the former place, who fell into line and accompanied them to the cemetery just north of town, where two other children of Mr. Ledwich's are buried. The services at the grave were aided by a choir of voices from Avoca led by W. W. Gardner. The little one that is gone, was the baby, the darling of the household, and the afflicted family feel their loss quite keenly, which is not at all lessened by the fact that their little girl is now quite ill with the fever, The sympathy of friends amount to but little at such times, and yet it is all that we can offer to these bereaved ones.
