Education: Attended and graduated from Harlan High School, Harlan, IA, where she was homecoming queen during her senior year. After high school, she attended Monticello College, Alton, IL where she pursued a teaching degree
Religious affiliation: was very active at the Congregational Church and was always the first to volunteer for making noodles, working funerals, bazaars, dinners, and many other things.

Marriage: Dean "Dusty" Frederickson; June 4, 1947; Harlan, IA
Employment: After attending Monticello College for 2 years, Prue returned to Harlan to work for her father at Tinsley Jewelry Store. After Dean completed his military service, they moved to Iowa City, IA where he attended the University of Iowa and Prue worked at Hands Jewelry. After Dean graduated, they moved back to Harlan and Prue returned to Tinsley Jewelry.
Hobbies/Interests: Volunteered for numerous organizations including the Girl Scouts, the hospital auxiliary, PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), the Iowa Mother's Association, Meals on Wheels, and Relay for Life; she had a passion for cooking; enjoyed camping in Wyoming, spending the summers at Lake Okoboji, IA, spending winters in Maui, flying with Dean in his airplane, and tailgating at Iowa Hawkeye football games. In her later years, Prue was known as "Honeybun" the clown, and she entertained at birthday parties, town parades, and visited the hospital and nursing homes.
