Education: Attended and graduated from Harlan (IA) High School, Class of 1943

Religious affiliation: Baptized at and attended Altamont Baptist Church for many years. She went on to become a member of the United Methodist Church in Irwin, IA before becoming a member at Abundant Life Church (now called Faith Family Church) in Harlan, IA. She was a faithful volunteer at the church bookstore for many years.

Marriage: Robert Wayne Larson; Dec. 5, 1946; home of the bride’s parents in Cuppy Grove, rural Harlan, IA

Employment: After her high school graduation, she immediately went to work at Harlan National Bank; she then began working at Farmers Savings Bank in Irwin, IA, and remained there until she retired in 1988.

Hobbies/Interests: Became a great cook of fish and game, as Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter; was most loved for her homemade tapioca pudding and had trouble finding a big enough bowl for her triple and quadruple batches; she enjoyed golfing, playing Bridge, and Skip-Bo, tending to her flowers and her well-kept yard. But mostly Dixie loved time spent with family.
