They settled in New Mexico where he went to work at the uranium mine. After 4 years, they returned to Harlan, IA, where Sonny and Marilyn had first met years before. He went to work for the City of Harlan Utilities as a boom truck operator before retiring in 1993.
Hobbies/Interests: Was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed all aspects of hunting; won numerous awards in archery; was an avid golfer and participated in the Senior Circuit for a number of years
