Employment: While still in high school, Bev worked at Knudsen Produce, Harlan, IA, candling eggs; after her marriage, she and Ron became lifelong farmers in Shelby County; their first farm was located north of Harlan until 1970, when they bought their farm on Maple Road near Corley, IA.
Hobbies/Interests: Loved being outdoors tending her yard, her flowers, raking leaves, gardening and growing tomatoes; enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, especially hummingbirds and cardinals; enjoyed cooking, hosting and gathering her family for dinners; swimming; loved playing cards or board games, or working a jigsaw puzzle; loved music and singing duets with Ron. Was an active member of the community as a 4H leader for the Lincoln Bluebirds, a tenured member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and active in the Red Hat Society.
