Life Story of Mrs. Glenn Custer

Clara Opal Custer was born April 2, 1892, in Shelby County to W. G. and Fannie Tague Goodner and died at the Myrtle Memorial Hospital of a heart attack after three weeks at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 15 days.

She attended the Lincoln township school and the HarIan public schools. On December 11, 1912 she was married to, Glenn D. Custer in Council Bluffs, and to this union, three children were born.

She has been a lifetime resident of the Methodist Church joining the First Methodist Church in Harlan 47 years ago, and before that belonged to the Methodist Church in Tennant. She was a member of the Women’s Union Circle.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn; three children, Ivan B. of Harlan, Glade G. of Denver, and Mrs. Dale (Verlee) Muller of Defiance; ten grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. K. M. Sells (Lotus) of Essex, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Pauley Funeral Home on Monday, October 19, 1959, with Rev. Roy W. Pfaff officiating., Richard W. Pauley was the soloist and Mrs. Ralph Rettig was the organist.

Pallbearers were Max Plumb, Rex Goodner, Marvin Darling, Glee White, Harold Havick, and Max K. Goodner
