Marriage: Wendell Allan Larsen; Oct. 10, 1943; Maryville, MO

Employment: In 1943, Irene began teaching at Gates Country School, located north of Atlantic, IA. After her marriage, they farmed near Brayton, IA, and later relocated to a farm near Elk Horn, Shelby County, IA. In 1948, Irene and Wendell purchased the feed and produce store in Elk Horn, IA, and moved into town. During this time, Irene taught junior high school in Exira, IA, and was then a preschool teacher with Miss & Master Preschool in Elk Horn for many years.

Hobbies/Interests: Irene and Wendell enjoyed camping when their children were young and, in later years, they loved to head south for the winter in their camper; enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and painting
