Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Ipswich, SD; he remained a member there until he and Gay relocated to Harlan, IA, where they became members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Employment: Was employed in the telephone business for more than 40 years, with more than 30 of them at Farmers Mutual Cooperative Telephone Company; Rick retired in 2017.
