Education: Graduated from Tri Center High School, Neola, IA, with the Class of 1966; he then attended Wayne State College, Wayne, NE.

Military service: Iowa National Guard, 1969 to Feb. 1975, when he was honorably discharged. While serving, he was awarded the Marksman Badge, 5 years of Service ribbon, and ACDUTRA State Service ribbon

Marriage: Jerri Barta; May 3, 1969; Mead, NE

Employment: Drove school bus for the Tri-Center school district for more than 20 years

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed fishing in Minnesota; playing cards; woodworking; spending time with family
