Mrs. Wilmer Farley, Elk Horn Woman, Dies Today

Mrs. Una E. Farley, 62, Elk Horn area resident, wife of Wilmer R. Farley, died at 12:15 this morning at the Cass County Memorial hospital. Mrs. Farley had been in failing health the last nine months and entered the hospital May 22.

She was born in Elk Horn Aug. 15, 1908, the daughter of L. W. and Mary Esbeck Johnson and was married to Mr. Farley at Elk Horn Jan. 15, 1930. With the exception of three years she resided in Grinnell, she had lived in the Elk Horn vicinity all of her life. She was a member of the Elk Horn Lutheran church, was a member and past matron of Liberty chapter, Marne OES and a charter member of the National Hereford Auxiliary.

Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Mariam Mae Canfield, El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. JoAnn Fossey, Shawnee Mission, Kans.; two brothers, Harvey W. Johnson of Elk Horn and J. Clifford Johnson, Council Bluffs and two grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ruby Sindt, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Elk Horn Lutheran church, the Rev. Lester Larson officiating. The family will meet relatives and friends at the Roland funeral home from 8 to 9:30 Wednesday evening and the casket will be taken to the church Thursday noon. Burial will be in the Elk Horn Lutheran cemetery.
