Religious affiliation: Active in the Merrill's Grove Baptist Church; was baptized there on Nov. 11, 1934, and was active in the youth group and in various choirs of the church; after moving to Harlan in her later years, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Harlan, IA

Marriage: Henry A. Paulsen; April 5, 1940; Merrill's Grove Baptist Church, Fiscus, Audubon County, IA

Employment: After the children were out of school, she began to work outside the home: first, at a cafe in Irwin, IA and then as a Ward Clerk at Myrtue Memorial Hospital, Harlan, IA for 28 years before retiring

Hobbies/Interests: cooking and baking, with pies and wedding cakes being her specialty; needlework, including smocking and crocheting; playing the piano and organ; traveling to Denmark to see family
