Education: Attended school in Arkansas City, KS and graduated from high school there in 1945. She attended Arkansas City (KS) Junior College and received her degree in 1947.

Religious affiliation: Charter members of First Baptist Church, Harlan, IA; Janet served many roles there: as a deaconess, a choir member, the coordinator for numerous rummage sales, and many other activities.

Employment: Worked at her husband’s veterinary practice for several years as receptionist and secretary and was a great lover of animals.

Hobbies/Interests: Supporter of the arts, especially of music: she participated in Community Choir, loved to attend Encore Music Series concerts in the area and would travel great distances to attend concerts. She particularly enjoyed ragtime jazz; loved to travel
