Marriage: Janice (unknown maiden name); May 29, 1965; St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Defiance, IA
Employment: Farmed with his father until he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Fort Carson, CO with the 5th Infantry Division. After his discharge, Cletus began working at Western Iowa Pork until it closed; he then became employed by Farmland Foods in Dension, IA, working in the packing industry for a total of 42 years, until he took early retirement. Retirement didn’t last long, though: Concerned Inc. offered him a 20-hour per week maintenance job which soon became full-time, and he worked there for 6 years. Finally, he worked for Pauley Jones Funeral Homes, a job he loved, having never fully retired.
Hobbies/Interests: Played baseball with the Westphalia Red Sox for many years; enjoyed gardening; playing games with his grandchildren and attending their activities
