Education: Attended Atlantic (IA) schools and graduated with the Class of 1977. Tim then completed the Automotive Mechanic Training program through Iowa Western Community College in 1978, and attended and completed Diesel Mechanics training in Denver, CO, in 1979.

Religious affiliation: Tim joined the Catholic Church in 1990, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avoca, IA.
