Survived by: Husband of 46 years, Jerry Strissel of Harlan, IA; daughters, Shannon (spouse, Aaron) Smith of Chisago City, MN, Vicki Strissel of Harlan, IA, and Jeri Boyer (SO, Don Barnett) of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren; sister, Deborah Peters of Centennial, CO; nieces; nephews; other family members and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Adam Henry and Pauline (nee Honstein) Lung; sister, Beth Ann Turner; granddaughter, Payson Nadine

Education: Attended school in Broomfield, CO and graduated from Broomfield High School, Class of 1965

Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lakewood, CO; was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, IA and then of Immanuel Lutheran Church when they moved to Harlan in 1982.

Employment: During high school, Dorothy worked taking care of 3 children for 1 family; after completing high school, Dorothy began working for The Smith Tool Company and Shell Oil. After establishing her family, she enjoyed taking school pictures for years while working at Noble Photography. Dorothy took pride in working alongside Jerry at JFS Associates, LTD since 2005 as the Senior Office Manager.

Hobbies/Interests: was an active member of PEO, served as a 4-H leader and was involved with the Shelby County Extension Services; loved to bake, cook, and collect recipes to share; Dorothy volunteered whenever she could at school and church activities through the year.
