Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Templeton, IA; long-time member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Defiance, IA, and was active with the ladies guild.

Employment: After her high school graduation, Dian worked at a grocery store in Carroll, IA. After her marriage, she became a farmer’s wife, working next to her husband on the farm. She also ran a daycare out of her home on the farm.

Hobbies/Interests: great cook; accomplished seamstress; enjoyed her flower gardens; shopping; reading; playing card games; occasionally visiting the casinos; spending time with her family, and always taking a family vacation every summer.
